In addition, you may need to share usernames and passwords. In the event that you are uncomfortable doing so, I suggest password managers (1Password or Last Pass), that will encrypt your usernames and passwords.

FAQs
What is a Virtual Assistant?
A Virtual Assistant (VA) is a business owner who provides administrative, marketing, creative, and technical support to business owners, entrepreneurs, and other busy professionals. VAs work from their own offices and use their own equipment. A successful VA usually has multiple clients and is constantly updating their knowledge, skills, and using the latest in technology. VAs are subcontractors that are only paid for the hours required to perform each project.

What are the benefits of using a Virtual Assistant?
One of the benefits of collaborating with a VA is that you get a highly-skilled individual only when you need the services. You can also contract VAs on a temporary basis without being hit with long-term contracts or temporary agency fees. Another benefit is the money you will save on your overhead expenses, employee benefits, taxes, and insurance. And lastly, you get to concentrate on your business.
How quickly will my project or tasks be completed?
Turnaround time depends on the complexity and urgency of the project/tasks. If your project is time-sensitive, the deadline will be agreed upon before the work begins. Clients will have to spend some time training for specific tasks relative to your business.

How do we communicate and work together?
Virtual assistants’ preferred method of communication is email, but they also communicate via text, video-conference, and phone. VAs will accommodate your business and your preferred style of communication when delegating tasks. VAs highly recommend prompt responses to e-mails/texts/voicemails for the client’s urgent requests so that it can be completed in a timely manner.

How do you keep information secure?
Files could be saved in a cloud-based service such as Google Drive or Dropbox so that access can be revoked if needed. Also, certain programs allow encryption like a password manager (e.g. LastPass or 1Password).

How can clients help to get the most out of their virtual assistants?
Prepare your new VA by writing down the tasks you want your VA to accomplish. If there is a process or program that your VA must learn, write an outline of the workflow as a reference or record a video. Communicate with your VA with both positive and critical feedback.
